Interim City Manager Yamamoto seeking Burien job

Martin Yamamoto, Mill Creek's interim city manager, is one of several candidates announced as finalists for the city manager position in Burien.

Mill Creek City councilmembers adopted a resolution Nov 23, 2021, appointing Yamamoto to perform the duties of city manager while a search is conducted to select a new city manager.

Mill Creek has trouble retaining city managers, who can be fired for no reason by councilmembers and the mayor.

In the recent past, it has fired Ken Armstrong, Steve Nolen, and Tim Burns. Rebecca Polizzotto resigned in disgrace.
