Mill Creek back to Stage 1 burn ban

Residents are now allowed to have recreational fires in approved fire pits. The city has grills available in four Mill Creek parks: Buffalo, Cougar, Highlands, and Pine Meadow.

Due to reduced fire danger, the Stage 2 burn ban was modified to a Stage 1 burn ban effective Friday, Sept. 10. The burn ban was modified to allow recreational fires.

Recreational fires are limited to cooking, ceremonial, or pleasure purposes only.

Recreational fires are less than three feet in diameter and two feet high, and shall not be conducted within 25 feet of a structure or combustible materials.

Recreational fires should be monitored at all times and must have a water source readily available; at a minimum, a charged water hose or a five-gallon bucket of water.
