Mill Creek Beacon - Your Hometown News Source

It's been about six months since The Beacon transitioned from a free publication to a subscription newspaper. We're pleased to report that, while we're not where we want to be yet, we're moving steadily in the right direction, attracting new subscribers weekly.

Between our printed newspapers and our websites, more than 30,000 readers are tuned into The Beacon every week. Especially encouraging are the notes and comments readers give us when they subscribe or re-subscribe. A typical comment: "I love The Beacon!"

And when we distribute extra papers on our stands around town, even when they're two or three weeks old, people gobble them up. That's impact.

Of course, the road to success requires effort on your part as well as ours. For our part, we have to give readers what they want, so we're constantly looking to improve our coverage with a single focus on local local LOCAL.

And while we know that advertising through a local medium like The Beacon's newspapers and websites is a smart investment, our new business model depends on subscribers, too, if we're to continue providing the local news that you tell us you want.
