Keep an eye on family, neighbors during hot spell

Even though the worst of the heat wave appears to be over for now, the Mill Creek Police Department wants to remind the community to stay safe, watch out for each other, and be aware of some of the potential dangers that can be associated with hot temperatures.

In particular, infants and young children, older adults, people with limited mobility, pregnant women, anyone with pre-existing medical conditions, and pets can be especially vulnerable in times of high heat. Some key tips for staying safe, include:

• Stay hydrated with water;

• Avoid outdoor activity during the hottest parts...
