The empty weight-room at Archbishop Murphy was a staging space for online workouts, to offer both an outlet and a continued bond with the school, while the pandemic was in full-swing. The private secondary school opened for onsite classes ahead of public schools, during COVID-19, with precautions in-place, to prevent viral spread. Principal Alicia Mitchell says with the vaccine expanding to youth, she expects more students to opt-in for onsite classes in the fall.

Masks are not required for the fully vaccinated in some settings but schools continue to mask-up, including AMHS.

"As a school, we are still requiring masks consistent with DOH guidelines," Mitchell said.
