Kiwanis recycling event draws many

Truckloads were hauled away the day of the Kiwanis recycling event and the group came back on day two, to haul off even more.

Nearly 100 cars were turned away from a recycling event because it was simply too popular.

"We filled 240-foot container trucks full of electronics, thousands of pounds of electronics from little old Mill Creek," said Kiwanis and Mill Creek City Councilmember John Steckler. "And we could feel very good about the fact that these electronics were recycled: the metal, the plastics, the materials, the electronic components, and all those thousands of pounds were not dumped in landfills."
