A new report on how to minimize COVID-19 in schools is in-process.
The rate at which COVID-19 is introduced in the classroom is proportional to the prevalence of COVID‐19 in the community, according to the report by the Washington State Department of Health and the Institute for Disease Modeling.
The primary grades from kindergarten to fifth grade are at lower risk of introductions compared to middle and high schools, and the phased‐in approach has a 25% lower COVID-19 introduction rate compared to a full 5‐day‐per‐week schedule.
