Law enforcement detonates explosives after arrest

A blast that shook windows and homes in the Mill Creek area on Dec. 2 was non-dangerous -- in fact, it was focused on keeping the community safe.
The explosion occurred on Dec. 1 at the Cathcart precinct for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. A post on the sheriff's office Twitter page said the bomb unit was performing an “emergent destruction” of explosives. The items were recovered from a nearby residence, the post said, to avoid transporting dangerous materials.
