Construction on Exploration Park in Mill Creek’s North Pointe neighborhood was slated to begin Monday, April 15. The work will be conducted during day-time hours, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., five days per week.
The project will be completed by McClure and Sons Inc., a Mill Creek contractor. The total project cost as approved by the City Council, including construction management fees and a contingency, is estimated at $1,253,939.
The park will be entirely closed to the public during the project. The construction site will be fenced. During daytime hours construction vehicles are anticipated to take up to 50 percent of the legal parking space adjacent to the site.
“People can expect general construction noise, including large trucks backing up and excavators,” said Matthew Feeley, city supervising engineer. “However, the level of noise will be significantly lower than what people experienced with the recent construction on 35th Avenue.”
The goal is to complete the project in October or early November. For additional information on the park project, visit http://www.cityofmillcreek.com/explorationpark.
