Jackson’s Vimawala finishes seventh | Boys tennis

Jackson’s Anuj Vimawala finished in seventh at the 4A state boys tennis singles championships Saturday, May 27, in Richland.
Vimawala lost to Battleground’s Gunner Harlan 6-1, 6-2 in the fourth-seventh place match. Vimawala opened with a victory over Auburn-Riverside’s Colby Tong before losing to Olympia’s Justin Ong in the quarterfinals. Vimawala then rebounded with a victory over Hanford’s Will Thompson.
Jackson’s Patrick Follis and Andrew Hyun won their first round match in the doubles tournament but dropped their next two matches.
