Rain fails to dampen Halloween festivities

A visitor from Jurassic Park joined skeletons, princesses and other magical kids of all ages Monday for Mill Creek’s annual Treats on Main celebration for Halloween. An estimated 5,000 kids and their adult companions crowded Town Center for the fun, which was followed by the annual Trunk or Treat event.

The city of Mill Creek once again enjoyed a festive Halloween pair of events Monday.

Although the rain abated for the Treats on Main, it returned with fervor for the Trunk or Treat event afterwards.

The record-setting October rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the families who came to enjoy both events, and officials estimated that as many as 5,000 ghosts, ninjas, zombies, princesses, superheroes and even some Legos walked Main Street and dug through trunks for goodies.

Police said motorists were patient with the street closures associated with both events, and there were no reports...
