A high-end steakhouse called Rare Society has opened in Mill Creek at 13223 39th Ave. SE.
It's the first in the state. There are California locations in San Clemente, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Solana Beach.
Happy hour from 4-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sunday. There are $10 cocktails, wine pours, and $5 beers, along with Steak N' Frites, Philly Cheesesteak, and Oysters Rockefeller in the lounge area.
Rare Society features a menu of premium proteins grilled over flames using locally sourced American Oak and showcased in an open exhibition-style kitchen. Inside the 3,800-square-foot, 130-seat space, guests are greeted by a 14-foot custom fireplace and wine display upon entering the doors, intended to "evoke the intimacy and comfort of a timeless neighborhood steakhouse."
According to its website: "Brad Wise's latest restaurant that pays homage to the infamous retro steakhouses that once laid claim to the Las Vegas Strip.
"Keeping alive the echoes of vintage upscale dining, Trust Restaurant Group reshuffled the deck to infuse a touch of modernity into the concept, adding a wood-fired log boiler for meats, a progressive cocktail program, and sustainably-sourced seafoods.
"Inside the space, black marble, tufted leather booths, and a gold-paneled ceiling invoke the lore of Rat Pack gatherings and raucous Sinatra dinner parties.
"Premium proteins, grilled on an open flame inside the exhibition kitchen, are at the heart of Rare Society's menu. Cuts of dry-aged ribeyes, Australian wagyu, and classic filet mignon complement bedrock steakhouse specialties such as oyster rockefeller, a grande seafood tower, and caesar salad. Indulgent touches include an extensive raw bar and a decadent dessert selection.
"Building upon the shared style of dining that has come to define Trust Restaurant Group, Chef Wise's meat boards, dubbed The Associate and The Executive, offer guests the opportunity to sample multiple cuts of beef alongside a variety of house-made sauces."
Prices on steak range from $41 for a 10-ounce Snake River Farms Wagyu tri-tip to $91 for a 22-ounce, 35-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye.
