A group of Mill Creek Garden Club volunteers recently tackled the job of cutting away the decayed unsightly fronds on the many sword ferns that thrive in the Veterans Monument area of Library Park.
The Garden Projects crew, along with Chair Carol Taylor and made short work of the task. The debris was carted to the City Hall dumpster, but not before David from the library offered a friendly "thank you" to the volunteers. He also mentioned mountain beaver sightings, which may explain the destruction of last summer's plantings.
