Mill Creek View owner Fred Fillbrook died Feb. 26, 2022.

Fred Fillbrook, owner and founder of the Mill Creek View newspaper, died Saturday, Feb. 26, at age 85. Fillbrook founded the biweekly paper in January 1991.

According to friend and Mill Creek Beacon columnist Chuck Wright, Fillbrook died at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland.

“Fred's death is sad, and with his death there is now a major active voice void here in Mill Creek,” said Wright. “(My wife) and I moved to Mill Creek in 1993, and even then he was an institution.

“Through his local paper, he led many of us to debate local issues, and for that am thankful.”
