Names and statues must empower our values

Standing inside of St. Mary's Anglican Church in Battersea, London, looking at the crypt and then looking up at the stained glass window that had a colorful side view of a general in uniform, surrounded by both U.S.A. and U.K. flags, I found myself becoming overly sensitive.
With a skeptic's smirk I began reading the verbage under the church's artwork. "THE TWO NATIONS WHOM HE SERVED IN TURN IN THE YEARS OF THE ENMITY HAVE UNITED IN ENDURING FRIENDSHIP." After doing so, I couldn't help gasping, "That is not right!"
Months later, and back in Mill Creek, I started wondering about our own U.S...
