DelBene secures $144M to help Washingtonians stay warm this winter

Funds are Helping Lower Costs of Heating, Utilities, and Energy Repairs for Hardworking Families, Seniors

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) announced a more than doubling of the annual federal investment toward helping Washington families and seniors afford energy costs.

In total, DelBene helped secure $143.6 million for Washington state in Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding through the American Rescue Plan and annual appropriations. Washington families and seniors can use this assistance to pay heating bills and cover the cost of utilities and energy repairs.
