UPDATE: Plastic bag ban NOW in effect

Town & Country Market has already swapped plastic bags for paper ones in the self-checkout machines. In an effort to reduce plastic littering and waste, customers will be encouraged to bring their own reusable shopping bags.

​​Beginning Friday, Oct. 1, the statewide ban on single-use plastic bags will go into effect.

The bag ban prohibits the distribution of single-use plastic carryout bags by restaurants, retail, small vendors, and grocery stores.

Acceptable bags made with recycled content will also be distributed with an 8-cents fee.

Mill Creek grocery stores and restaurants have already transitioned to accommodate the new mandate.
