Temps to rise this weekend

Officials issue warning for yet another extreme heat event

Temperatures are expected to increase Thursday, Aug. 12 and remain hot into the weekend, and officials are encouraging residents to be prepared. Temperatures are likely to exceed 95 degrees F in parts of the county.

Snohomish County is part of the excessive heat watch issued by the National Weather Service for much of Washington state. High temperatures can become dangerous to vulnerable individuals and pets who are unable to stay cool.

Following the extreme heatwave that scorched the Pacific Northwest in late June, the state Department of Health has confirmed at least 78 heat-related death...
