“I could care less” is one of those commonplace and misquoted phrases. Many other colloquialisms may be more egregious, such as the painful overuse of “literally” to describe a litany of situations that are not literal in any way, shape, or form (a phrase that does not really make sense since a shape or a form have to do with a way or most actions).
A “near miss,” an “old adage,” or “irregardless”? Sigh.
