'Bee Movie' sequel provides buzz outside Alderwood theater

A large honey bee nest was removed from a tree outside the AMC movie theater at Alderwood Mall on Wednesday by the Wild Bee Company in Edmonds. Keith Glatzer, the owner and operator of the company, notes how rare an exposed honey bee nest of this size is in the region.

Glatzer has been beekeeping for 20 years, and started his removal business 10 years ago. He explains that honey bees typically build their hives in walls and cavities to maintain their structure, and the fact that this large nest was perched on a tree made it a very interesting removal job.
