About 10% of us are different from the rest of humanity in a number of ways. Or, to be a little less obscure, there are a variety of conditions or states that occur in human beings at around that percentage.
About 10% of us are left-handed, for example, or have Rh-negative blood, or are alcoholics.
This is entirely subjective and certainly not authoritative, just anecdotal. It just seems as though when reading about one or another of the endless varieties of human beings and their behavior, that 10-15% figure tends to pop up more often than not.
