Police department looking to hire officers and a technician to fill gaps in staff

'We have not hired this aggressively in several years'

After being hired and completing the initial three months of field training, new recruits are ready to work on solo patrols answering and responding to different types of police work throughout the community.

The Mill Creek Police Department is looking to hire an entry and lateral level police officer as well as a records technician due to a shortage in staff.

"We have not hired this aggressively in several years," Police Corporal and Public Information Officer Ian Durkee said. "There's definitely some

attrition in our staff with anticipated retirements in the coming years."

The MCPD is hoping to reach people who would be interested in working in these positions and connect with them.
