Mill Creek grows

New developments expand City, bring in revenue

This 2019 rendering of The Farm depicts the 354 residential livings spaces which sits on 17 acres, and is comprised of 14 buildings with 100,000 square feet of commerical space for new businesses.

The City of Mill Creek is growing and the budget is feeling those changes.

"We are extremely busy in our department," said Christi Schmidt, Senior Planner.

Building permit activity is higher than normal, land values have increased, and "market improvements are very popular right now," Schmidt said. "Every city, every jurisdiction is experiencing it."

She said the quarantine has landed people at home, causing them to look around and see what they would like to improve, leading to residents repairing decks and ripping into kitchens.
