Bothell man arrested

Police find more than 600 fentanyl pills, meth, cash

Deputies say a Bothell man eluded officers and once apprehended, gave permission for a vehicle search that revealed fentanyl and methamphetamine.

A 33-year-old Bothell man arrested for driving under the influence and eluding had fentanyl and methamphetamine in the vehicle.

The Washington State Supreme Court Decision State v. Blake has impacted charging for possession in some cases. The court ruled that the accuser, not the suspect, is responsible for proving a person "knowingly" possesses a controlled substance. Asked if that case impacted this one, the SCSO communications office said it did not.

"My understanding is the new ruling does not apply to possession with intent to sell," Courtney O'Keefe said.
