Legal fees are reducing in the city. The new landscape for public records requests is impacting Mill Creek and other cities. A 2016 MRSC report suggests cities form policies and procedures to deal with a new era in public disclosure.
Mill Creek legal expenses are from two top categories: general employment issues and public records requests.

A pie chart presented at the meeting showed general employment litigation issues dominating with nearly 33% of the legal expense budget, and public records at 26%.
