Mill Creek legal fees disclosed

Employment and public records are two areas costing money

Legal fees are reducing in the city. The new landscape for public records requests is impacting Mill Creek and other cities. A 2016 MRSC report suggests cities form policies and procedures to deal with a new era in public disclosure.

Mill Creek legal expenses are from two top categories: general employment issues and public records requests.

The City Council heard an update on legal fees from City Attorney Grant Degginger in the April 6 council meeting. The presentation is posted here: https://bit.ly/2OlSjY6.

A pie chart presented at the meeting showed general employment litigation issues dominating with nearly 33% of the legal expense budget, and public records at 26%.
