Winter storms cause damage to new ferry terminal

This section of First Street passes by the new transit center in Mukilteo. Crews will shut down the westbound lane to access the underground stormwater system and repair it.

The recent winter storm delivered a surprise to the new Mukilteo ferry terminal – specifically to the terminal's stormwater system

Starting March 22, crews will close part of the westbound lane of First Street from the transit center to the tollbooths. Construction crews need access to the manholes in the area to do repair work on the underground stormwater system that was damaged during a recent storm.

This portion of First Street is currently not a through-street, but it's the road buses use to access the transit center and where people go to drop off and pick up passengers. Flaggers wi...
