The year 2020 was one we'd all like to forget, but like it or not, it happened.

The Women Democrats for Action ("WDA") could not participate in local festivals and parades. As a result, they turned their energies and cash to the needs of the community, in particular families that are impacted the most from the pandemic.

Anne Jensen, school counselor for Woodside Elementary, identified some families that were especially hit hard.

Several members of WDA donated their own funds to help the families identified by Ms. Jensen. The participating members contributed $1,500. The donated funds will be shared among the families.

Pictured here are three members of the WDA (Nancy Knox, Kathleen Corbiere and Pat Huckell) meeting with Anne Jensen, school counselor, and Dr. Betty Cobbs, principal, on February 22, 2021, to present gift cards that can be used for whatever the families need.

If you would like information about joining the WDA, email us at membershipwda@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook (Women Democrats for Action).
