March is National Kidney Month, a time when communities across the country raise awareness about kidney disease.
Chronic kidney disease is a serious condition often overlooked until symptoms appear, according to the national institute of diabetes and digestive and kidney disease. CKD is progressive and can put those who have it at risk for serious health complications including kidney failure, NIDDKD says. Adopting a healthy lifestyle can help manage and slow progression of CKD and its complications.
