Mill Creek Key Club raises funds for a student in Zimbabwe

Key Club at Jackson High School has plans: help people, give back, repeat.

The 160-member youth service organization is a partner to Kiwanis, with both service organizations aimed at service both locally and globally.

The "Yuda Bands" fundraiser will sell wrist adornments, handmade in Guatemala, for $10 each. Funds are targeted at the education of an overseas student.

The bands adjust from 4.5 to 8 inches in diameter and are crafted from leather, string and coconut shells.

Each bracelet is unique, she said. "I haven't seen a duplicate of any of them."
