Wesco moves closer to resuming prep sports

The start of the three proposed high school sports seasons was tentatively approved by Western Conference athletic directors. Wesco will talk to school superintendents then revisit a final decision for a restart.

The start of the first of three proposed high school sports seasons was tentatively approved by Western Conference athletic directors Monday, Feb. 1.
The plan calls for traditional fall sports to begin Feb. 22. It was drafted by Wesco athletic directors during a meeting last month.
In order for the plan to be implemented, a number of items needed to be in place:
• The Puget Sound region (Snohomish, King and Pierce counties) must be in Phase 2 of Gov. Jay Inslee's Healthy Washington-Road map to Recovery plan;
