Power outage in Mill Creek was less than in some cities

Downed trees and branches littered the streets of Snohomish County, blocking roads and leaving 11,951 PUD customers still without power the evening of Jan. 14.

Mill Creek was hardly impacted at all.

The evening of Jan. 14, the outage map showed eight Mill Creek customers were without power.

“You’re not allowed to develop in Mill Creek without underground utilities,” said Mike Todd, Director of Public Works and Development Services for the city.

As such, when the PUD is repairing downed power lines taken out by windstorms that can land trees on lines, Mill Creek is busy with other task...
