Point in Time homeless count reduced in scope

Unsheltered population will not be counted in 2021

The annual Point-In-Time Homeless Count will not collect its usual of data, in 2021, due to the risk of COVID-19 spread and the limit on available volunteers.

The count determines how many people are staying in emergency shelters, transitional housing, and on the street or other places not meant for habitation. Snohomish County and its partner nonprofit agencies, who join to count the homeless annually, are spread too thin due to the added pressures of COVID-19.

The 2020 count recorded 673 individuals as unsheltered; close to the count a year earlier, which was 599 unsheltered. Another 459...
