As protests create more spreading events and new strains circulate, the state is preparing to enter a new phase for vaccinations.
Two vaccines are circulating to prevent COVID-19: one by Pfizer-BioNTech, and a second by Moderna. Both are a new type of vaccine, called an mRNA vaccine. Neither can give a person the virus. Both require two doses to work.
The first phase was health care workers and people in long-term care. The next is expected to be people over the age of 70, and those older than 50 and living in a multi-generational household. Upcoming phases are here: https://bit.ly/397IxPT.
