Mill Creek staffing shifts again

'Budget neutral' reorganization effort creates new position

Mill Creek is reorganizing staffing and preparing to hire an assistant for the city manager.

The City of Mill Creek is in reorganization mode as it plans for 2021.

On Dec. 8, the city hired a new finance director to replace Jeff Balentine, who resigned this summer then agreed to temporarily return to help the city get through its budgeting process. The biennial budget was approved Dec. 1.

Balentine responded to a text message asking if he was still employed by the City, and said since the position was filled he no longer works for Mill Creek. He met is agreed-to obligation to help with the budget. Balentine is currently employed by the city of Granite Falls as the Human Resources...
