A 29-year-old man from the Mill Creek area was injured in a hit and run incident on Highway 99 on Thanksgiving and transported to the hospital.
The incident occurred near 148th Street on Nov. 25 at 6:45 p.m. Moses Vilensky, 29, was crossing Highway 99 where there is no crosswalk. A 1988 blue Volvo traveling northbound struck Vilensky, then police say it fled the scene.
Vilensky was transported to Harborview Medical Center. It is not known if his injuries were life threatening.
The 23-year-old suspect was arrested and booked that night into Snohomish County Jail. The charge associated with the incident is vehicular assault, said Heather Axtman, public information officer for the Washington State Patrol.
If Vilensky were to die from his injuries, Axtman said, the charges will be elevated to vehicular homicide. It could not be verified that Vilensky was at Harborview, so his condition is not known. The hit and run incident is still under investigation.
