Garden Club in Mill Creek collects more than 1,000 pounds

Food drive for Hope Creek helps prepare for Thanksgiving

Garden club members used their personal space, vehicles and time to collect more than 1,000 pounds of food, for the food bank.

A food drive by the Mill Creek Garden Club drew in more than 1,000 pounds of food in the "Thanks for Giving" drive, dedicated to the Mill Creek Community Food Bank.

The final tally of collected food items resulted from the Garden Club Board challenging its members with a food drive. Donors brought canned goods, non-perishables, diapers, and seasonal food items for delivery just before Thanksgiving.

Members contributed in various ways. Nancy Hedges granted use of her personal garage as a drop-off location, clearing a path from her car. Kathy Thomas transported donations to the food Bank....
