Goal: A wreath to honor every Veteran

Mill Creek Rotary works to honor fallen heroes

Evergreen Washelli is shown here. The Mill Creek Rotary has a goal to assure that every memorialized veteran there has a wreath placed on his or her gravestone.

The Mill Creek Rotary is taking part in the nationally recognized Wreaths Across America program. Its purpose, as stated on the website, is to "remember our fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve, and teach your children the value of freedom."

Evergreen-Washelli Veterans Memorial Park has 5,000 veterans buried there, said Mary Kay Voss, Rotary member and Mill Creek volunteer. The 2019 wreath drive by the Mill Creek Rotary only gathered 1,900 wreaths, she said.
