Police union encourages wiser words for Dunn

As many of you know the Everett Police Officers Association took offense to a post created by County Council member Dunn.
Many citizens were also shocked by the post and visual representation used therein. Many of you voiced your passionate opposition to the post and what you felt it represented.
County Council member Dunn removed the post and posted an apology. Although the apology contained some "ya buts" it is not our place to dictate her apology. To the degree of the sincerity of the apology only Council member Dunn knows that in her heart.
We hope to see her actions in the future demonstrate that sincerity moving forward.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg stated "Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”
The counter culture of violence against our law enforcement and law abiding citizens that we are witnessing daily can never be accepted. You MUST lead in a manner that represents ALL of US. No easy task.
We would rescind our demand for a resignation from council member Dunn, and request she work closely with line level Law Enforcement officers for solutions and understanding.
To the citizens who support accountability and Police Officers, THANK YOU for your support. Please continue to use your voices to Back the Blue.
Sergeant James Collier
President, Everett Police Officers Association
