National Suicide Prevention week, Sept. 6 to Sept. 12, reminded us the number one cause of suicide is untreated depression. But on the positive side, around 85% of individuals who are treated have successful outcomes.

I have been advised there are more than 44,000 suicides (6,000 being veterans) in the U.S. every year, and for each of those suicides, the American Association of Suicidology estimate, 135 other persons are affected by the deliberate killing of oneself.
