Remote learning is a fit for local family
Two telecommuting parents were ready for the new normal

The first day of school used to come with memories of new shoes, backpacks, and possibly a ride on a yellow bus.
But pandemic-era students will have an entirely new set of memories. School started in the Everett school district Sept. 9.
For Jackson High School freshman Desmond X Basa, his first year in high school is one of handmade cubicles and a remote-work hive of mental activity, already in process in his Bothell-area home.
Remote learning is not new to them, because it has been part of their home-culture for the past five years, said Nanette Basa, Desmond's mom.
