Pandemic doesn't stop our community spirit | Darn Wright

As we walk or jog around Mill Creek, one often goes by a bequeathed memorial bench, remembrances plaque, memorial tree, art piece, picnic table, or flagpole.

This community remembrance spirit is all around us, and I’ll share one event that I was an eyewitness to: it was orchestrated by state Rep. John Lovick, aka Mr. Speaker.

Across the street from John’s house – my wife and I are lucky to live just down the block from the Lovicks – we have the very small and nondescript rectangle Heatherstone Park. In reality it is just a large patch of grass that had one old weather-beaten wood...
