Another business with ties to Mill Creek announced it will permanently shut down – housewares store, Anko – effective immediately, according to its website as of Monday morning.
"Regretfully we will be permanently closing our Anko stores including anko.com, effective immediately.
We will continue to fulfill all online orders that have been placed prior to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 7 and make them available at your chosen pick-up location."
Anko is the second business in Mill Creek to announce its closure in recent weeks. Pier 1 Imports, a national housewares chain, announced it will be closing shop after COVID-19 restrictions exacerbated already-falling sales. It's one of the biggest store front on Main Street in Mill Creek.
Anko has a flagship store in Lynnwood and recently opened stores in Burien (open since September 2019) and Totem Lake (open since October 2019). There was a pop-up store on Main Street in Mill Creek for months. The stores sold a mix of clothing, housewares, beauty supplies, kids' toys, technology accessories, and related items.
The Beacon has reached out to Anko for comment. This story will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
