Rasoumoff takes second at Mat Classic XXXII

Jackson's Amanda Rasoumoff placed second in the 145 division at Mat Classic XXXII.

A change in her mindset paid off in a big way for Amanda Rasoumoff.

The Jackson junior came into Mat Classic XXXII relaxed and ready to wrestle her best.

Rasoumoff's performance in the two-day tournament turned out to be among the best in the state, as she advanced to the 145-pound finals in the girls tournament Saturday, Feb. 22, in the Tacoma Dome.

Though she ended up losing by fall to Kentwood senior Ivy Kraght at the 1-minute, 33-second mark, the thrill of competing for a state title seemed to almost make up for any disappointment of finishing second.
