In the end, the Lions kicked what turned out to be the game-winning field goal early in the fourth quarter to edge the Wildcats 10-7 in the Northwest Conference 2A Sky Division football opener Friday, Sept. 27, at Archbishop Murphy High School’s Terry Ennis Stadium.
“I thought we played hard, but we made a lot of mental mistakes and a lot of penalties,” coach Mark Leone said. “It was not our cleanest football game.”
