John Steckler has been an active member of the Mill Creek community for decades. We have had the privilege of working with John and his wife, Lisa, through the Jackson High School music program, where their sons were part of the choir and band.
During the years the boys were at Jackson, John became an active member of the music boosters. He provided leadership as someone who could see the big picture, while also considering the smaller components. He unified people to work together to raise funds and provide experiences for our students, and lean in and confront challenges with grace and humor.
John’s leadership style in our music booster group served to build a community of parents and students through activities that helped us reach and often exceed our fundraising goals. He understands the importance of having clear goals and doing whatever it takes to reach them – all while being sensitive to staying focused on our mission of “Supporting Kids in Music Education.”
What sets John apart from so many other people is his openness and sincere curiosity about looking at all sides of an issue. His willingness to fully consider viewpoints that differ from his own keep him open to discovering the best possible solution to problems.
We are thrilled that John Steckler is willing to serve the Mill Creek community on the city council. We live in this community and have the faith and trust that he will represent each citizen with fairness, respect, and integrity.
