Before you read further I challenge you to close your eyes and slowly count to 100. Now that your eyes are wide open again you may be able to see more clearly what this “October Blindness” month is all about.

A 3-year-old French boy by the name of Louis Braille (1809-1852) became blind from the 19th century’s lack of medical knowledge after he accidentally stabbed himself in the eye with his father’s leather hole punching tool.
