Thrill seekers can now try out Arena Sports Mill Creek’s newest zipline and ropes course Sky Trail.
The course opened June 20 but has been in the planning stages since the opening of the arena in 2017.
The Sky Trail features 14 obstacle courses. Some of the elements in the course include suspended bridges, cargo nets, rope ladders and a zipline.
“It provides an unknown thrill,” said Kelly Bright, Arena Sports marketing manager.
The fee is $15 per person. Participants may stay on the course as long as they want.
The construction of the course started in November after Bright attended a company conference.
The goal was to have the course completed by this summer and it was reached.
The plans all fell into place, Bright said.
In preparation for the new sports course, staff also had to go through three days of extensive training in order to ensure that all safety and emergency procedures were understood.
Family entertainment center manager Reid Bartleson was one of the staff members who went through the training. He said that there is always an initial fear when trying out the course for the first time. However, all it takes is one attempt to get over the fear.
“Try it at least once,” Bartleson said. “Even after 20 times on it, it’s still always fun.”
As long the person can fit into the harness, there is no age restriction for those interested in trying out the ropes course.
But participants under 48 inches tall must be guided by a parent or chaperone. If participants can not fit into the harness, they will not be allowed to use the course.
While the new ropes course has attracted many people to Arena Sports Mill Creek, customers also have the opportunity to experience other parts of Arena Sports Mill Creek.
Those visiting Arena Sports Mill Creek can check out other attractions such as the climbing wall, arcade, laser tag, bowling, the inflatable playground, and virtual reality gaming. Food is also served at Moe’s Kitchen located inside Arena Sports Mill Creek.
“It’s great for people to come in,” Bright said. “You may come in for the sports but stay for everything else.”
The ropes course is open Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There’s limited availability Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Arena Sports Mill Creek is located at 13500 Bothell-Everett Highway.
