Back by popular demand: Pianos on Main Street

The three hand-painted pianos along Main Street attracted some accomplished musicians and some adorable amateurs to sit down and play some music this week. This little girl attracted several shoppers to stop and listen to her tickle the ivories. The pianos were installed on Tuesday, July 2, in Town Center to inspire even more young talent.

Art is hands-on with these unique street installations. Visitors are invited to make and enjoy music with custom designed pianos donated by Mill Creek residents and transformed by local high school art students. The pianos were immensely popular last summer, and the City is proud to bring the pianos back into the community for another season.

Three pianos were installed on Tuesday, July 2, along Main Street at::

  • 15163 and 15217 Main Street, underneath the covered bridge next to FROST.
  • 15418 Main Street at the bus stop across from Cold Stone Creamery.
  • 15605 Main Street at Central Market, near the outdoor eating area.

City officials hope to place a fourth piano in front of the QFC on a date to be determined.
