Boundary revisions proposed to reduce overcrowding at Jackson

If approved by the school board, the recommendations from the select committee tasked with exploring potential solutions for the overcrowded classrooms at Jackson High School could reduce enrollment by as much as 400 students in the 2023 school year and reduce the need for more than half of the portable classrooms on the Mill Creek campus.
A preliminary report prepared by the 30-member commission proposed allowing the majority of students currently enrolled at Jackson to remain at the school with a priority on keeping students from neighborhoods together.
