Youth Board continues to collect school supplies

Last updated 4/19/2019 at Noon

Members of the community have been asked to contribute to the ongoing collection of school supplies coordinated by the Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board (YAB).

The drive was launched in late March with collection sites at two businesses in Mill Creek. Donations will continue to be accepted at City Hall, the Mill Creek YMCA, the University Book store location in Mil Creek Town Center and the Staples store on the Bothell-Everett Hwy.

According to a spokesperson for YAB, all donations will be given to Fostering Together for distribution to high school and middle school students who may not otherwise be able to afford the necessary tools to succeed in the classroom.

“There has been a demonstrated need for foster children in our community to have a backpack and a set of school supplies to call their own, especially when changing homes,” the spokesperson said.

The list of suggested donations includes backpacks, spiral notebooks, composition books, college ruled paper, No. 2 pencils, black and blue ink pens and highlighters.

“Any donation is greatly appreciated,” the spokesperson said.

More information is available by contacting the board’s advisor, Kristen Rasmussen in City Hall at
